Let me start by saying I am extremely disappointed.Barcelona weren't at their strongest,yet we did not take full advantage.Ronaldo was too selfish,Rooney was ineffective,Carrick was panicking,Vidic was careless,Anderson couldn't keep up,and Park shouldn't have played.Giggs looked lost,and Scholes should have been sent off.

Where was Berbatov and Tevez?Barca showed in the first 10 minutes that if you attack them,they'll panic.So why was our midfield so weak they keep getting the ball?

I can give the technical stuff and analysis,but now the season's over so I don't want to talk about it.All I can say was that United made things easier for Barca,that's why the shortest guy on the pitch could score a header.

Puyol was man-of-the-match,not least because CR7 kept bullying him.Xavi and Iniesta are my heroes...together with Messi nobody can get the ball of them.Congrats Barca...I still hate Liverpool.

The positives I can take is that Barca knew what we were capable of...at one point they defended with the whole team behind the ball.And we weren't cowards like Chelsea...we played an open game therefore both teams had a fair share of possession.I'm only a little proud of that...other than that the whole team left their nuts back in Manchester.Fergie...you got your tactics wrong.

At least we're the PL champions and we can say we lost to the best team in the world.Viva la Barca...please do us a favour and trash Madrid when C.Ron arrives next year...thank you in advance.

Yeah, i know it was a really disappointing week.
since i just finished my exams, i had the time to rewatch the liverpool and fulham match.
i have to disagree with you, nick.
the liverpool match was a big screwup, but that didn't mean we deserved to lose. grrr, van der sar shouldn't have acted that way. you could tell that he got upset when liver was given the penalty(he refused to stand in line) and i think, when he got the yellow card, he was just not in the mood for the game anymore. bad, bad van der sar:/ he should've at least bothered to save the last 2 goals:( he just stood there, watching the ball roll in the goal like it was in slow motion, it was painful to watch.
i had a weird feeling that park was the only one really trying to play.

but for the fulham game, i thought we played well in the 2nd half. we just couldnt score. we totally sucked during the 1st half, but when berba went off and rooney came on, i was impressed, slightly. but the red cards..sigh.
what scholes did was really dumb:P and rooney HAS TO GO for anger management classes.
but after all's said and done, you still have to love them.
so cheer up people, this weird losing streak won't last long:) although i also have an itchy feeling that something fishy is going on. like, juventus.. maybe the betting companies are blackmailing us, or bribing refs or whatnot..lol.

What a lousy weekend. Yes, we lost AGAIN. The Liverpool game i admit, we were outclassed. But. FULHAM?? Come on la!!! I was really angry. They played horribly, bad passing and crossing! Not to mention 2 red cards! So now Liverpool are chasing us real closely, it s a good thing we have a game in hand. OR ELSE, we're dead la.

Okay,considering that it is Inter,and United didn't really play up to par,I would say this is a routine win though we were always shaky until Ron made sure of the win for us.

Actually,I expected this to happen as before in my last post,what I wanted to describe as Inter's weakness is that they have no penetration.To be honest,their squad is good,but they lack wingers.Mancini is not in the same league as Ronaldo,Quaresma was sent to Chelsea, and Figo is just another old man collecting his pension in Italy,the land of grandfathers.Without proper support,Ibra and Adriano had to do all the hard work themselves,and there was nobody else to distract Ferdinand and Vidic,so their task was quite straightforward all night long.

In short,Inter are like Mourinho's old Chelsea.Unlike Chelsea,their midfield is not even half as powerful,and that's the reason why they couldn't break United down over two legs.The only ones worth mentioning in Inter's midfield are Zanetti and Cambiasso,who tried hard but was ultimately unsuccessful.Stankovic appears past his best but still showed flashes of his old self.

As for United,this was uncharacteristically poor,and their passes ran astray...even from *gulp* Scholes and Carrick.However I believe this is a blip,and as they progress they will improve.Long live the European champions.

Who do you wanna draw for the quarters?Personally,I would like some club to take care of Barca,and we get either Liverpool or Bayern.Please...I don't want Chelsea or Villareal (remember the four goalless ties).

And Liverpool...dream on at Old Trafford this weekend.We are not Real Madrid.

Another cup for us... no suprises there... oh. nick here by the way. Although we won. I think the match was really boring. I know Alex wanted to start with all the youngsters. But after that first half after there was hardly any chances, he should have put in Ryan Giggs already. He also should not have put Rooney to rest but put him on the bench and play him too.

Like that, we could have finished the game 2-0? No need to tire the other players. But we won at the end. That's what matters. And a special salute to Foster. He played fantastically...

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE LIVERPOOL FANS WITH THE ALZHEIMER'S PART!!
All my liver fan friends go like 'we're totally gonna win it this year' at the start of the season. and when you go ' wanna bet?' they go 'oh yeah!' ..until they start playing badly. then they'll start to keep their mouths shut and wait till the season ends so they start all over again next season.

and the real madrid part. so true. it's so ignorant of them to buy all the star players and think they'd gel like glue or whatnot. class cannot be bought by money(you hear that, man city and chelsea??) only great clubs like man united can bring out the class in players:)

p.s. frankly i think that kahn deserves to be stuck up. i'd say he was the second best goalie i've seen on a football pitch(sorry, i'm a very opionated person. some people seem hate me for that). best was of course our very own peter schmeichel(who was also very stuck up) heck, cantona was also very, very stuck up, but that's a different story. it's not wrong unless you're someone like drogba, ashley cole, dida, kalac..etc etc..

moving on to the inter v united match...

we totally dominated the first half. giggs, carrick were playing very well and inter looked like they were just walking around with sore tushies. i was super-suprised to find out that fergie left rooney on the bench(why oh why??) but i was glad enough i didn't see materazzi's monkey'looking face either.

inter started to get into the game in the second half and ibra became more of a threat. but even with vidic suspended, gary neville and wes brown hurt, (luckily jonny evans and o'shea were declared fit an hour before kick-off..) they couldn't really penetrate our defense.

cesar gets my vote for man of the match though.

i thought it was an exciting match but with a disappointing result(Gahh!! all the pretty chances that c ronaldo blew up..) but when inter get their pretty little tushes to old trafford, we're gonna kick them in the butt soooo hard:)

It's Adrian W. here.I just wanted to say a few things.There are a few European clubs I really hate with all my guts.Let me list them.

5.Bayern Munich

I never liked them.They made the Bundesliga boring.And their chairman is quite an idiot.Oliver Kahn used to be quite stuck up,and Bayern used to suck the best players in Germany and won the title again and again.But failed badly in Europe.Quite like United,actually.Maybe that's why they are called FC Hollywood.

4.Arsenal

This was during 02-04,back when a bunch of idiots called Lauren,Vieira,Keown,Campbell,ASHLEY COLE,Mad Jens Lehmann and Arsene's blindness used to think they could usurp MAN UNITED! They used to play pretty dirty,and always had players sent off during games.But the reason why they are fourth is because I still respect their ability.

3.Chelsea FC

For being rich and now,down the drain.Good for them.Mourinho's presence made it all the easier.But so are a few of the stuck-ups there.Drogba,Mikel (dirty bugger), ASHLEY COLE (yes him again),JOHN TERRY I FREAKING HATE YOU CHELSEA CHEATING SCUMS.How I cried when John Terry cried in the CL final 08,I was so overcome with emotion.Of joy,that is.How I laughed when Drogba slapped Vidic LOL.How I kept thinking Avram Grant resembled Droopy,and Ashley Cole getting caught cheating on his wife.Goodbye Abramovich,you are gonna leave soon with your Russian love.

2.Liverpool

18 league titles,5 European cups,boring football since 1990,living in the past.Liverpool only lose out on first spot because they are NOT WORTH THAT SPOT.Think about it.Every time you talk to a Liverpool fan,they seem to be under the influence of drugs when they talk about their team.Oh Torres! Gerrard! Whereas we say "Oh the league title! Oh Ronaldo 42 goals! Oh European champions!" Living in history is like saying...eh you know,last time I won a title in Formula 1,it was such a great achievement you know! It was back in 1940,when the car was first invented,I raced with a toy car and won! But now you can't win when everyone else has cars,meaning you WERE a great club,but now you're not.The thing I hate most is Liverpool fans thinking that just because they won a lot,so they deserve to be included in the "top 4 whatever".I love it when year after year,Liverpool fans' faces change within three months.At May,they are sad because again they won nothing,but come August they will kid themselves into thinking "this is our year!" And then get disappointed again.It's like they have Alzhiemer's or something.

Add this to the fact that Gerrard is a dump footballer who gets owned every time he plays at OT,but yet they think he is Captain America, and it's enough to know why Liverpool are a shite team.Their goals mostly consist of

a)long ball,Torres,goal
b)Gerrard rocket

Now that is crap football.When Benitez leaves,so will Torres,Alonso,Riera,Mascherano.All the Latin fellas will go.That leaves them with Superman (who nearly went off to Chelsea,but then Liverpool fans threatened him with Kryptonite,so he got scared) and Carragher,who I am sure are future World Footballers of the Year.And uh,Dirk Kuyt.Good luck Liverpool.

Just because you bought Beckham then overtook United as the world's richest club (by the way after Peter Kenyon started the Utd megastore all the other clubs followed our merchandising scheme and made money off replica kits and more) that doesn't entitle you to be so big-headed and buy a superstar every season.Adios,galacticos.Good for them they are still in the hole they dug for themselves.I just can't hate them enough.

Bullying other clubs and buying contigents of players (Brazilians - it used to be Ronaldo,Roberto Carlos,Julio Baptista,Robinho) (Holland - V.Nistelrooy,Van der Vaart,Sneijder,Robben) thinking that they can give the best football,dream on lah.I hope a meteor crashes in the Santiago Bernabeu.Oh,and Fernando Alonso supports this crap of a team too.The horror =O

I actually wrote this blog in defense of arshavin, scholes and bayern munich. i was once scolded 'a load of bollocks' by an english guy when i told him that beckham was overrated, so what i think is..we have to be careful when we critisize.

Firstly, i think it's sad that arsenal bought arshavin. i watched him play during euro 2008 and that boy can really work wonders. he's raw talent and i seriously hope that arsenal won't put him to waste, like samir nasri, the ex-marseille prodigy(it's not like arsenal's gonna win anything for the few years to come anyway) but yeah, he wasnt anything out of the ordinary in his debut for arsenal. sometimes i wished we had better competition:P

As for scholes, yeah. his tackling is not thaaat good, but i've seen worse. 'sucks' is a very strong word don't you think? besides, scholesy has perfect passing to make up for his lack in tackling skills. and his powerful and long range shots are just breathtaking, even when it doesn't hit the net. players like nani and ronaldo should really get passing lessons from scholesy.

I watched the bayern v cologne match. Of course, bayern weren't playing too well last night. klose's shot on the 13th min was ruled offside.. Lahm and demichelis were careless to let in the 2 goals.. and the cologne defenders were really pissing rensing off. on the whole i thought cologne weren't a club with exactly good sportsmanship. but nevermind.. i just think it's unfair to laugh at bayern because they're actually not bad a club.

I'm really looking forward to this tuesday's match. partly because i haaate inter milan and i hope we kill them and stomp them on the ground and let them die in agony.. lol. but we definitely have to look out for ibra. he's in really really good form. and also materazzi in case he says something to get someone to headbutt him again. inter aren't the kind of club who'll play nice and on the whole they fall quite easily onto the ground. and they're quite violent/agressive and man-mark potential scorers very, very closely(that was what i concluded about them after watching the inter matches in serie a, e.g. they eliminate good players like kaka by kicking them until they get hurt, but they never get any cards for a weird reason. hopefully they'll use a better/undirty approach for champions league games). but i believe we can beat them. class always goes above dirty schemes, no?

p/s: who doesn't know that cesar is inter's gk??? o.O

Was just watching shorty's debut for l'Arse.Although he played quite okay (6/10) in my opinion,le Professor used him on the right,which I think is a complete waste of talent,otherwise he could cause real damage in midfiled.

I heard Chelsea played quite well,though I think they cannot last long.As for Liverpool...well they are the king of the unexpected.

Just to correct Terence T.,Scholes's tackling sucks.He can't tackle for nuts,and has been sent off a fair number of times in his career for bad timing.The most recent being his foul on Totti in the Champions League.

And as I was watching this,Ribery-inspired Bayern are down 2-0 at home to FC Koln! LOL.Personally,there is not much to write about right now as the Premier League is boring,the other competitions are not worth mentioning,and the Champions League is next week.So I guess for your benefit,I will talk about Inter-United soon.But for now,just some key talking points.

Inter has been blowing hot and cold in Serie A,but you can't judge them on their league position (1st but who cares) because the competition in Italy this year has been dismal.By far they are the best team in Italy.Juve are inconsistent,Milan are old,and Roma are somewhere in the table,I don't know where.Lack of competition=foregone conclusion.They might as well bring out the champagne now.

However,any team who has Zlatan Ibrahimovic is worth looking out for,even though the rest of the team may not be that chun lah.Julio Cesar (keeper,for those who do not know) is in the form of his life,Walter Samuel seems solid,ditto Maicon,and Zanetti is evergreen though he is considered the grandfather of Inter.Ibra remains superb (just look at his highlights for this season alone),and the midfield of Muntari,Cambiasso and Stankovic are quite solid and formidable.And let's not forget the irritating bastard on the bench with his Armani overcoat and well-groomed hair,Mourinho.He may be an idiot and a big-mouth but this is a man who knows his stuff,mark my words.Bad results at Chelsea is not a way to measure his worth.The guy is one of the best motivators in the world.

Before you start crying that Man United will find this team hard to beat,I will post on their weaknesses in the next post.But for now let's just say that when Inter look at the squad we have,they will know that there's a reason we are champions in England and hold clean sheet records blah blah.Goodnight people.

Scholes Screamer

We all know Scholes is the main midfield general of Manchester United, and he has still been one of the best in terms of cross-field passes, crosses, defense-breaking passes, tackling and many others. His vision, skill and technique is one of the main reasons why former Manchester United midfielder Robbie Savage was offloaded to another club. Yeah you have got it right, Robbie Savage...

Yes yes we all do know that Robbie Savage is now suffering while playing in a team managed by Nigel Clough, Derby County. Anyone read the newspaper few days ago? Savage got spat upon by no one else other than the FIFA World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo. Thank goodness it was not a major problems caused despite all the media coverage.

Anyways, back to the Scholes Screamer which we saw on TV at 8pm (+8GMT) aka 4am Malaysian time @ ESPN this morning. We noticed how much Scholes is still much of a talent and respect to the players despite being humbly humiliated by the Messiah (Lionel Messi) in the Champions League Semis at Old Trafford last year. All in all, did you know Messi himself is a Scholes fan?

Mark Schwarzer, the Fulham goalkeeper must have felt that the sting of the shot which was provided by Michael Carrick to Paul Scholes to allow it to roll past his grasp and sneak into the other side of the goal. It was so obvious that Schwarzer was actually swining his palms after the goal during the group celebrations amongst the ManUtd players.

Edwin van der Sar is argueably the most relieved goalkeeper in the world after Bobby Zamora's double attempts which almost sneaked into the goal during the game. Luckily the fans and players alike survived the scare and Edwin was caught by cameras with double eyebrows raised and winking at the cameras. Pure comedian from the 38 year old veteran.

Yes. We all know we are 5 points top, but lets hope we will keep up with this form and don't get sloppy with it. There's still another 13 more games to go and its time for us to buckle up and keep cheering for the best team in England, Europe and in the world.

Wohoo!! even with such a loooong injury list, we still won 2-1:) thanks to scholesy and berba's beautiful goals:)
Tottenham weren't really putting up much of a fight, and they were lucky Pavly helped them score in the 5th minute. and it was nice seeing fabio play(although you have to admit that rafael plays a wee bit better than his twin) but he was subbed later by eckersley because of a calf strain(i think). welbeck was playing quite well too but he limped off late in the second half to be replaced by zoran tosic. Ronaldo's becoming more and more useless. he's still fast with the ball but he gives it away so easily. and he blows up nice chances to score. self-confidence issues i guess.
I'm really glad scholesy scored. it's not really often you get to see him find the net nowadays but his goals are always a pleasure to see. and berba scored the next minute(2 goals in 2 minutes, isn't that just amazing?) and it's true when people say you could see traces of cantona in him, because they're both a bit lazy when it coes to running around but amazing enough to always stand in the right place at the right time to produce important goals. but in this match, i noticed berba running a bit harder than usual. i guess it was the pressure of playing against his old club and he had a point to prove. lol. but of course, cantona is still the best. All hail King Cantona:)
and tevez, played as hard as usual.
Actually i thought Bentley played quite well too. I dunno why but everyone seem to hate him. i wonder if its because he used to play for arsenal(and he said he was the biggest arsenal fan, but when he went to tottenham he claimed to love spurs all his life) i think he's a decent player, but he had better days in blackburn(you should see his 43 yard goal against arsenal)
Anyway, the Man United v Liverpoo match will be on March 13th(Saturday) and we might be organizing a gathering/viewing party thing. Might. so yeah... i know its a bit early but, anyone having any ideas?

Even though I didnt watch it, I think they did really well against Derby, judging by the reports and goals scored. Not to mention Nani scored too. =D
